Nicole, relief from the loneliness of the mother wound

“The weekends are awful I feel so lonely” – Nicole

Nicole is an independent self-employed woman, working in various roles whilst caring for her young daughter and running her own business.  Nicole tried one therapy after another trying to heal childhood wounds, anxiety, and loneliness. She even became a fully qualified yoga instructor but couldn’t get to the root of things until she delved into shadow work.

Feelings of loneliness dominated her life

Nicole often found herself slipping into old patterns of addiction – compulsively eating sugar-based foods and engaging in patterns of seeking validation via her mobile phone. These behaviours deeply distracted her from being able to create the life that she wanted, or to develop healthy relationships with herself and the external world.

“The depths of the loneliness had me constantly in tears and led me into unhealthy relationships” – Nicole

Over the years Nicole had accessed therapies such as EMDR, CBT and Counselling.  Although these offered some respite and realisations, there was deeper inner-work required to integrate trauma and release her from the feelings of loneliness.

Nicole expressed patterns of people-pleasing and trying to seek love by giving herself over to others.  Because of feelings of abandonment and fear of her mother during childhood, she developed a pattern of abandoning herself.

Nicole was experiencing physical pain in her hips and back because of trauma and tension held within her body.

The deeper wounds of childhood were still to be healed

“The overwhelming loneliness has disappeared– Nicole

With careful guidance, accountability and a strong container, Nicole began a process of self-observation, which allowed her to witness how her patterns of behaviour were creating her reality. She was able to look back at her childhood and resolve some deeper-rooted issues around abandonment.

The guided meditations and breathwork allowed Nicole to separate herself from her childhood programming and from the elements within her being which were holding her back. Then allow for the re-integration of those elements to find balance.

“I’m feeling so connected with myself, finally able to forgive my shame” – Nicole

She was able to work through blockages which were preventing her from focusing her time and energy on things she enjoyed and desired to create.  Nicole was able to bring unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion to her inner-self and step into her power.

The guided meditations and breathwork allowed Nicole to separate herself from her childhood programming and from the elements within her being which were holding her back. Then allow for the re-integration of those elements to find balance.

The power of the breath and the movement of energy during the conscious connected breathwork sessions allowed for tensions to be unlocked and to move. During the sessions, a childhood imprint of not being allowed to speak her truth, was able to be released and the energy attached to this was transformed. She released the physical tension that had been held in her hips and lower back for years.

“It feels like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I’m no longer trapped in my own head”  – Nicole

Nicole now understands how she distracts herself from her feelings using her phone and also with food.  She’s now able to connect with her feelings, learn from them, and acknowledge when old patterns are arising.

Nicole worked through old trauma from past relationships and now understands more about grief . She has developed a more intimate relationship with her feelings, accepting, forgiving and letting go are now available to her.  Nicole has been able to allow stored grief, and the tension and shame attached to it, to move through her through the power of presence, conscious movement and the connected breathwork.  The physical pain she was experiencing reduced as she developed intimacy with it, this has prevented self-soothing and avoidance patterns continuing.

Nicole is now able to use the breath to feel present and whole

Nicole has focused her attention on the things she really loves and is now beginning a business as a trampoline coach.  Nicole has established a loving relationship with herself and nurtures herself with daily meditation and yoga.

Nicole is focused on the journey she has chosen for herself.
